THE IMAGE OF THE CHRIST

Does the image in the picture look familiar? April Fool! This is not a Renaissance painting of the Christ. On the contrary, it is that of the Renaissance man; Cesare Borgia. There is a striking resemblance but they are not one in the same. Then again, that depends on how you look at it! Have you ever wondered whose image was used in (or influenced) all the European paintings, sculptures and carvings of Jesus? In artwork produced more than one-thousand years after the Messiah roamed the earth? And I know there are those who have always wondered why everyone in the Bible, especially the Messiah, is white. The person in the picture is not the Son of God. Howbeit, some might say he comes very close. He was actually the Son of the Pope – God’s earthly representative; at least to the Roman Catholic Church! To be more specific, Cesare Borgia was the illegitimate son of Alexander VI; in much the same way that Jesus was the illegitimate son of Joseph. Contrary to popular belief, once upon a time the Papacy was allowed to have sex … and get married … but not necessarily in that order.
THE FATHER Pope Alexander VI was born on January 1, 1431 to Jofré Llançol y Escrivà and Isabel de Borja in Xàtiva, Valencia (Spain). His image; below left. He was born Roderic Llançol (which he later changed to Roderic de Borja i Borja; Italian version: Rodrigo Borgia). Roderic Llançol assumed his mother's family name of Borja (Borgia) following the elevation of his maternal uncle Alonso de Borja, to the papacy as Calixtus III in 1455. Rodrigo Borgia was soon after appointed to Bishop status. He served for 37-years until his own elevation to papacy as Alexander VI. The year was 1492 and at the time, Cesare Borgia was 16-years old. This was also the same year attributed to Christopher Columbus discovering America. Yes, 1492 was a very significant year for Europeans! Alexander VI served for 11-years before he died in the year 1503.
If Pope Alexander VI held the sacred European office today, he would be the subject of serious scandal. To begin, he was famous for having dozens of mistresses. However, his favorite was Vannozza (Giovanna) dei Cattani, who bore him four children (Giovanni [1474], Cesare [1476], Lucrezia [1480] and Goffredo [1482]) he acknowledged as in his own image. [Note: Cesare is Cesare Borgia] He also had other children (Girolamo, Isabella, Pier Luigi; Don Pedro Luis and Girolama) of uncertain parentage (i.e. no one was sure who their mothers were). In addition to all of this, he spent some quality time with a married woman; the beautiful Giulia Farnese (Giulia Bella); married into the princely Orsini family that produced three papacy of Christ (Celestine III [1191–1198], Nicholas III [1277–1280], and Benedict XIII [1724–1730]. Giulia Farnese bore Alexander VI a daughter (Laura) in 1492 – there’s that year again! It is also reported that Lucrezia (his daughter) was also one of his Lovers.
THE SON Cesare Borgia was born in the year 1476 (some records say 1475; take your pick) in the image of his father; he was the favored son. The Pope wanted Cesare to follow in his footsteps and made him Bishop of Pamplona (Spain) at the age of 15. And by his 18th birthday, Cesare was elevated to Cardinal. However, his older brother, Giovanni, was made Captain General of the military forces of the papacy; an office Cesare envied. In 1497, Giovanni was assassinated under mysterious circumstances. To this day, Cesare is the Prime Suspect! It was common knowledge; Cesare and Giovanni shared a common mistress … Sancha of Aragon (Princess of Naples), the wife of their younger brother, Goffredo. Cesare and Giovanni often fought each other to win her heart and Cesare was furious when she refused to leave her husband; his younger brother. To say the least, this European Renaissance family was nothing like Christ. Alas, Cesare Borgia had two motives to kill Giovanni … or have him killed. He was surely the image of his father, the Pope! On August 17, 1498 (the year following Giovanni’s assassination), Cesare became the first person in history to resign the Cardinalate. He soon filled the military void left by Giovanni’s death. Cesare became popularly known as a ruthless murderer and assassin … attributes that served the European Renaissance Christian church well. Is there no wonder they are deemed the first Crime family?
THE DAVINCI CODE - THE PART THEY LEFT OUT When Pope Alexander VI held the office, Roman Catholic Church waged war against Islam. And Cesare Borgia was very instrumental. At the time, the Muslim hordes had successfully made their way northward into Germany. In addition, they conquered and controlled the Christian city and capital of the Byzantine Empire, Constantinople (Turkey). This threatened the very stronghold the papacy held over the Empire at the time. Unbeknownst to most, a major thorn in the papacy’s side was the fact that the image of the guy that held their religion together (i.e. Jesus) resembled the very people they were fighting; dark-skinned with African/Middle Eastern characteristics. The Christ was depicted this way in all the European religious art (i.e. carvings, paintings and sculptures). How could the Church sell the general population on the wickedness of the evil Muslim hordes when the Messiah they worshipped resembled the evil Muslim hordes?

Although the original Disciples who followed the Messiah were people of African descent who lived in African and Middle Eastern (East Africa) territories, the Catholic Church had won the War of Influence with Judaism. Ergo, Europeans had long taken control of the church and invented their version of the same thing. The “Disciples of the Messiah” were now “Followers of (the) Christ." Pope Alexander VI devised a plan to have every image of the original Messiah destroyed. This meant the entire Vatican needed a makeover! Alexander VI commissioned Leonardo Di Vinci to recast Jesus in the image of his own beloved son Cesare Borgia.

This new image of Jesus would completely disassociate the whites of the Empire from the blacks of Africa/Middle East. And their armies could freely kill Muslims in good conscious. Rumor has it that even today; armed guards are stationed around the clock at every entrance of the Catacombs of Rome to keep anyone from viewing the wall carvings of the original African Messiah in his legitimate ethnic representation.

The Borgia family of the European Renaissance was so notorious they became the image and inspiration for Mario Puzo’s, The Godfather. You are also encouraged to Google all the names used in this article, gain more knowledge and draw your own conclusions.
